A former Kentucky State Police trooper accepted a plea deal in a DUI accident that seriously injured him along with four members of a Grant County family.

The former Kentucky trooper pled guilty to amend the charges against him, according to a Commonwealth Attorney handling the case.

He was ordered to pay $700 a month to the couple whose car he struck head-on while he was off duty.

His sentencing is scheduled for December 10 because he is still recovering from serious injuries he sustained in the car crash. As part of the plea agreement, he will serve a ten year prison sentence.
