Stephanie Smith-Lester of Crittenden County Kentucky remains in a coma after a February 12 Car Wreck on a Bridge just outside of Ledbetter Kentucky. In an article published in Tuesday's Paducah Sun, Smith-Lester reportedly remains in a coma in Nashville Tennessee at Vanderbilt University.

At first Doctors gave her 13 week old fetus very little chance to live, according to the news article. But now, as the condition of the mother has improved, so has the strength of the fetus. Smith-Lester suffered a crushed pelvis, three fractures to her skull and a bruised brain. In addition, she had a torn amniosac that is healing itself.

The recovery of this soon to be mom is incredible. Although she remains in a coma there is increased movement in her arms and legs. Smith-Lester seems to have passed on her will to fight and her courage to the unborn child who is exhibiting a strong heart beat.

A great lesson to us all and a shining example of how parents can teach their children. We wish this family a speedy recovery and may all of God's Blessing be with them.
