Death of Football Player Results in Lawsuit

Glenna Crockett and Jeffrey Gilpin, parents of 15-year-old Max Gilpin, filed a Wrongful-Death lawsuit at the Jefferson Circuit court after their son collapsed at football practice. He was later pronounced dead.

The lawsuit names the coaches of Pleasure Ridge Park High School, which includes: head football coach, Jason Stinson, Bobby Deacon, Steve Deacon, Jason Hiser and Jason Cook.

Bath County Kentucky Semi Tractor Trailer Truck Wreck on Interstate 64 Takes the Life of Kenneth Mckenzie

This tragic Kentucky Semi Tractor Trailer Wreck happend in Bath County early Tuesday Morning. Police were on the scene attmepting to clear up a first small wreck. Click on the link to get the video reports of this Kentucky Accident. The wreck took place on Interstate 64.

As the Police were clearing up the first wreck around 4:30 a.m., a Semi Truck rear ended a passnger car. The car was occupied by Kenneth McKenzie, 49, of Bath County. The impact of the crash flipped the Semi Truck on its side. The impact took the life of Kenneth McKenzie.

The whole crash scene was under fog at the time of the Multiple Vehicle Car Wrecks. The family of McKenzie will likely have Kentucky Wrongful Death Claim against the Driver and the Semi-Truck Company. However, the investigation is ongoing.

Semi Tractor Trailer Trucks are governed under Federal Regulations called the FMCSR or Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. It is unclear at this time whether the Semi Truck was in violation of these Regulations.

Today is The Twenty Year Anniversary of Kentucky Drunk Driving Accident

Today marks the 20 year anniversary of the Carrollton Bus Crash in Kentucky. This Accident was the Deadliest Drunk Driving Accident in Kentucky or the Nations History.

A pickup truck was going the wrong way on Interstate 71 when it collided with a Church Owned School Bus. The bus was bringing School Children home from a Field Trip.

Larry Mahoney who was the Defendant in this Kentucky Drunk Driving Accident served 9 and 1/2 years in prison for the injuries and deaths that he caused. He has refused all interviews.

The Fuel Tank on the Bus ruptured and caught fire. As a result there were 27 Wrongful Deaths from this wreck. That is the deadliest on record, even 20 years later.

Kentucky Fetal Wrongful Death Law Will Be Tested in Western Kentucky--Part II

I had written recently on how the new Kentucky Fetal Wrongful Death Law would be put to the test in a Lyon County Kentucky Court Room.

This is the latest on the Kentucky Fetal Wrongful Death Law. This is the Criminal Case that is being pursued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

It is unknown to this author at this time if there was a Civil Claim Filed For Kentucky Wrongful Death.

Southern Illinois Head On Collision Takes the Life Of Joe Randolph

A Teenage Driver, who had dropped a cigarette, ran Head on into the car of Joe Randolph on Sunday Night. The Southern Illinois Car Wreck took the life of Randolph. This Illinois Wrongful Death Car Wreck happened on Joppa Road in Massac County.

At this point, Authorities are still deciding whether to pursue criminal charges against the young Driver. Read Story and Watch Video of Illinois Wrongful Death Auto Accident. Randolph's family will have a claim for Loss of Consoritum (Love and Affection), Lost Earnings Capacity, Reasonable Medical and Funeral Bills and Pain and Suffering (Pre Impact and Post Impact).

Illinois Tractor Trailer Wrongful Death Accident Takes the Life of Ryan Rendleman

Ryan Rendleman from Batvia has been killed in Southern Illinois after a Tractor Trailer Truck Driven by Kevin Morrison of Beecher City slammed into the back of his car, which was stopped in a Construction Zone.

Morrison told Police that he was looking down at the radio and did not know that the cars in front of him had stopped. He was ticketed for Failure to Reduce Speed and Failure to Keep a Log Book which is governed by the Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration.

Kentucky Fetal Wrongful Death Law Will be Tested in Western Kentucky

Commonwealth Attorney for Lyon County, G.L. Ovey, says that this is a first for him. A case where a man is being tried for the death of his girlfriend's unborn baby after a 2006 Kentucky Car Wreck. Donald Prizybylo was indictied earlier this month by a Lyon County Grand Jury and is charged under the 2004 Kentucky Fetal Homicide Law. He is also charged with four counts of assault stemming from the Head On Collision that he caused.

Prizybylo's driving caused the death of his Stacy Nelson's unborn baby to be killed and four others to be injured. The wreck occurred in 2006 on the trace highway at Land Between the Lakes.

The law has been enforced before but most of those cases were in Central Kentucky, according to the report. This will be the first time it has been put to the test in a Western Kentucky Court Room. Ovey stated that the fact that there were no drugs or alcohol inolved makes this case unique.

Prizybylo is scheduled to make his first Court Appearance on May 5, 2008. He remains in the Caldwell County Jail on a $100,000.00 bond. A Civil Suit for Kentucky Wrongful Death is also likely.

Family of Everett Walker Wants Officer Charged in Wrongful Death Car Wreck in Murray Kentucky

The family of Everett Walker want the Police Officer who collided with Walker charged and relieved of his duties. The family is asking that the Officer be dismissed until charges are filed and prosecuted. http://www.kentucky.com/471/story/355028.html

Walker was killed last week in the Kentucky Car Wreck Collision in Murray Kentucky. The officer was responding to a call when the crash occurred.

Kentucky Wrongful Death Attorney

Seven People died on Kentucky Highways over the New Years Holiday. This was measured from December 28, 2007 until January 1, 2008. This is one less than a year ago.

But the good news doesn't end there. There were 61 fewer Kentucky Wrongful Deaths than in 2006. This is a drop in fatalities of 6.8 percent. The mandatory seatbelt law is to be credited for some of the decrease.

Keeton Mathis of Symsonia Kentucky is Hit and Killed by a Graves County School Bus

Tragedy struck the small Graves County Kentucky town of Symsonia Thursday afternoon as Keeton Mathis, 3, was hit and killed by a Graves County School Bus. This Kentucky Wrongful Death Bus Crash continues to be investigated.

The driver of the school bus will likely not work on Friday due to the emotional strain of the Accident. The rest of the facts have not yet been given.

A death investigation must be opened any time there is an Accident Case in Kentucky that involves a death.
