Caldwell County Woman Injured In Tractor-Trailer Accident

A Caldwell County woman, 30, was taken to Vanderbilt Medical Hospital Sunday evening after her vehicle crashed underneath a tractor-trailer on Interstate 24.

She was traveling west on Interstate 24 when she crossed the median near the Oak Grove exit.

The driver of the oncoming tractor-trailer was unable to avoid the accident, but he was not injured in the crash. The woman has been listed in critical condition.

A Semi Tractor Trailer Accident Takes the Life of a Tennessee Man on the Western Kentucky Parkway

A 70 year old Tennessee Man was killed on the Western Kentucky Parkway last Monday after being struck by a Semi Tractor Trailer Truck.

Joseph E. Litz of Clarksville, had stopped to tighten his gas cap when the Semi Truck hit his car and trailer before hitting another car. The accident happened near Mile Marker 114 of the Western Kentucky Parkway.

Litz and his wife were traveling to Louisville to attend the Kentucky State Fair.

This story sparks more discussion of the need for new laws concerning vehicles that are pulled off of the side of highways and Interstates. I recently wrote an article on a newly signed law in the state of Illionois called "Shibs Law" that allows Emergency Responder to close Highways and Interstates when duty calls.

In this case Mr. Litz was not an Emergency Responder but still should have been afforded some protection while stopped on the side of the road. A Potential New Law for Kentucky could require all Motorist to pull into the left hand lane when they see another motorist stopped on the side of the road. It is a Law that motorist must pull into the left lane when they see a Police Officer pulled off the road.

The need for this type of legislation is underscored when we see preventable accidents, such as this case. It appears that this accident was caused by a Professional Driver who was inattentive to a motorist pulled to the side of the road.

I would be interested in any comments on this issue and the need for some sort of law protecting motorist pulled to the sides of the roads.

Crittenden County Kentucky Tractor Trailer Truck Accident Injures One

There was an Accident in Crittenden County Kentucky on Thursday that left a young man injured. He was thrown from his car when he was hit by a Semi Tractor Trailer Truck. The truck happened to be a Tanker Truck.

The Kentucky Accident happened around Fredonia and Mott City on US 641. Reports said that the Tanker may have been leaking fuel. There is no word on the young mans condition.

Latest Update on Brian Williams of Fancy Farm Kentucky

As reported yesterday on both of my injuryboard sites, Brian Williams is still fighting for his life at Vanderbilt University Hospital in Nashville Tn. The Paducah Sun reported this morning that Williams's condition has been listed as Critical.

Williams was injured after being hit by a Semi Truck hauling logs as he tried to turn into his driveway in Fancy Farm Kentucky. He was trapped in the car for twenty minutes before being extracted by the Jaws of Life.

Keep Brian Williams and his family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Kentucky Semi Truck Wreck on Higway 121 Near Carlisle and Graves County Line

There has been a Serious Kentucky Semi Truck wreck on Highway 121 near the Carlisle and Graves County Line in Western Kentucky. There are serious injuries involved in this Accident. Police are asking motorist to avoid the are as the road will be closed.

Injuries involving Semi Trucks can often be more serious because of the weight of these trucks.

This is the second Serious Wreck on Highway 121 in three days. Sunday night on 121 near the intersection with Highway 97, a Suburban ran a red light and hit a Church Van, which took the life of 82 year old Linda Stem from Mayfield.

Semi-Truck Wreck Closes One Lane of U.S. 60 West of Paducah Kentucky in Ballard County

There has been Semi-Truck Wreck west of Paducah Kentucky in Ballard County. The wreck happened earlier this morning between the 11 and 12 Mile Marker on U.S. 60. Authorities do not know how long it will take to clean up the crash site. Further, accident details are not know at this time.

Five Dead in North Carolina Logging Truck and Car Accident

Two adults and three children were killed earlier Thursday when a logging truck and car collided in North Carolina near Winton in Hertford County. The driver of the logging truck was not injured. Read News Story Here.

Hickman County Kentucky Semi-Truck and Van Collision Fatally Injures Kurt Janes of Mayfield

A story that we reported about earlier this week has come to a tragic end. Kurt Janes, 28, of Mayfield Kentucky was killed as a result of a Semi-Truck and Van Collision on U.S. Highway 51 near Clinton.

According to a story in Friday's Paducah Sun, Janes was flown to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashvillle Tennessee after the Kentucky Semi-Truck Wreck. Janes died around midnight Wednesday in the Truama Center there at Vanderbilt.

Kentucky State Trooper Tim Sales that the Van in which Janes was driving crossed the center line and hit the Semi-Truck in a head on collision. The Semi-Truck Driver, Elikin Dawson, 65, of Paris Tennessee was not injured.

Hickman County Kentucky Semi-Truck Wreck Sends One to the Hospital

There has been a Western Kentucky Semi-Truck Wreck in Hickman County Kentucky on US Higway 51 near Clinton Kentucky. The Semi-Truck collided with a van. The driver of the van has been arilifted to a hospital. Read News Story.

Names of the drivers of both the van and the Semi-Truck have not been released. At last report the Police were reconstructing the Accident to determine the cause.
